Many of us will have been to a wedding, where on sitting down for the wedding breakfast you find a couple of disposable cameras on the table. We think, what a great addition by the bride and groom for us to all take some photos of the fun at our table.

We start taking photos, reminiscing about the time when you used to have to wind the film on. Kids at the table not understanding that you can't see the photo you just took to check it's ok or have the option to delete it.

Before you know it, you've used your 28 snaps, no idea if they're any good and put the camera down to get covered in spilt wine as we return to our trusty smartphones to continue taking photos of the day.

It was fun but the interaction is over as quickly as it started, the camera lost in the debris of the wedding breakfast table and no one knowing if they've got 28 amazing photos of the day, or just uncle John's thumb.

Back before digital cameras and smartphones these were a great idea, a brilliant way of capturing photos from your wedding, which showed your guests having fun and not the staged professional shots.

Times have moved on though, everyone has a high quality digital camera in their pocket and are taking photos with them all the time.

EventsAlbum gives you a way to capture all these photos, in a simple and easy way for your guests, no need for them to download any apps or sign up for an account anywhere.

They just scan a QR code and upload.

But perhaps you're missing the engagement the disposable cameras gave you? Well EventsAlbum lets you have a livestream of photos as they're uploaded display on a screen at your reception. Suddenly everyone's taking photos and uploading them just to get them on the screen, bringing you the same engagement you had with the disposables but lasting throughout the reception.

So what are the benefits of using EventsAlbum over disposable cameras

Quality

Everyone has a high quality digital camera in their pocket these days and EventsAlbum doesn't compress images at all. The photo you get to download from our site is the same quality it was taken in.

With disposable camera's if you manage to avoid taking a snap of your thumb you're doing well, you can't check that aunty Jane didn't have her eyes closed and your camera doesn't have the features of a modern smartphone with auto focus and portrait modes.

In short the photos you get from your smartphone are going to be a better quality and with EventsAlbum you can download them in the quality they were taken.

Price

A single EventsAlbum package is £40, this covers everything and includes all our features as well as unlimited storage.

Disposable cameras aren't cheap, if you've got 100 guests for your wedding, you'll probably need 25 of them, they cost about £7 each so that's already £175. They generally have 27 or 28 photos so that's 700 photos and then you need to develop them after the wedding. Conservatively that's £6 a camera so another £150.

So you're paying £325 for up to 700 photos, a lot of them of peoples thumbs.

EventsAlbum is £40 for as many photos as your guests can take and they can check for thumbs as they take them.

Livestream and guest engagement

With EventsAlbum you get the livestream of photos and can run this on a big screen throughout the reception. This drives engagement from your guests getting them uploading photos throughout the night as the party gets going, not just during the wedding breakfast.

Environmentally Friendly

Last but certainly not least, EventsAlbum is environmentally friendly. Disposable cameras are plastic, whilst they do get recycled many will end up in landfill (possible still with your photos on them).

EventsAlbum is entirely online, you may need to print a few QR codes but that's it.
